Random Thoughts: Ep 1

Life is like a river. It flows through one place, and it goes out another. It does not move in a straight line. The flow is always changing as the current shifts, And there are those who look for this constant change that exists at all times in order to find themselves in a way that is not just one path, but many paths with multiple turns. It’s a journey. A journey that leads only to itself. There will be places that have different currents than others;  places that have not been touched by the flow of time. They may seem small compared to other paths, but they hold great potential. They do not flow to the same destination every day, and they do not stay on their course.  Instead, they travel the world in a random manner and take different routes to reach their final destination.

But this is only the beginning. The waters still flow. Still run in the flow of time. Some will make their way down a particular pathway, and some will cross its path. There will be people that come together from these paths, and people who cross them. These are the things you will never know about. You cannot see the future, but it seems to you that the past has already taken shape when you were living, and you can remember bits of it now when your memory fails you.

You see how the river is shaped around the rocks, and yet nothing can ever truly grasp the entirety of it. There is too much that lies beneath the surface, hidden away deep within its dark and murky waters. But sometimes, the currents run so strongly that something slips free. Something unexpected and exciting happens, and you get caught up in the ride. You have not seen what will happen to someone after that, but there is always the chance.  Perhaps it won’t be as interesting or as shocking as you imagined, but it could possibly surprise you nonetheless. Sometimes it can even be more exciting than you had anticipated.  Maybe the new experiences you discover on the banks of the water will give meaning to the events that occurred in your life before.  That was the fun part about living long enough to experience the most unexpected and wonderful things. You lived so well, you forgot that no matter how much you thought you knew everything, there were still surprises awaiting you.
